Ain’t going to lie that I have a ridiculous sweet tooth. It is one of my biggest downfalls to why I have such a hard time dropping weight, as we all know sugar is far from helpful in this journey. Yet the junk still finds it way into my hands. Willingly, I change a lot of things out of our diet; all natural farm feed chicken, organic fruits & vegetables, all natural pastas and sauces. But sweets is where I just can’t fully make the switch on a consistent basis. Admittedly, I was excited and hesitant when Cooggies reached out to send us a couple boxes of their cookie types to aid in this review. Who would have ever thought vegetables + cookies would end up creating an irresistible cookie? I sure as heck didn’t.
Cooggies™ mission is to improve the nutritional value of snacking, by using vegetables and all natural ingredients in every bite. We market to the health-conscious family interested in healthy, balanced and sustainable eating.
These delicious beauties were created by the talented Tammy Cohen who put her experiences as a mother and a culinary school graduate to the test. Growing tired of meeting the demands from not just her own family but her customers as well who did not incorporate fresh vegetables into their diet; Cooggies was born.
Cooggies has three different cookie options. Each batch of cookies is made with the utmost care to deliver a sweet treat while ensuring that we are not compromising our health. They are GMO free, made with the utmost quality of ingredients, and peanut free! Your options are:
Oatmeal Raisin Cookie: carrots, cauliflower, butternut squash, and sweet potato
Double Chocolate Cookie: zucchini, spinach, broccoli, peas, and sweet potato
Chocolate Chip Cookie: cauliflower, corn, sweet potato, and butternut squash
Are you still having a difficult time wrapping your head around the whole concept? Don’t worry so did I until they came. The hubs was the first one to try them due to misbehaving little ones. I put the husband’s in an unmarked bag in his lunch box so that he wouldn’t know what he was eating either. That day he tried Double Chocolate and Chocolate Chip. Over all the hubs enjoyed them. His only one and only complaint was that they were not as moist as he prefers. But I take that with a grain of salt since he’s picky and didn’t have milk to eat them with. Now the kids on the other hand were in love with Cooggies from the very beginning. They wouldn’t stop walking around saying the name as many times as they could while giggling hysterically. Being the sneaky mom I am; I waited to tell the kids what kind of cookie Cooggies was until after they tried them. They didn’t care. In fact Sy was blown away by the idea that there were vegetables in his treat. Simply put, the kids ADORED them. Each got the pleasure to enjoy a snack bag cookie type of their choice. Which might I add that I love this option! Makes it easy to toss in a lunch box, backpack, even my purse for a snack to tide the kids over when were running errands the other day. I didn’t even have to worry about how much sugar they were consuming nor the after effects.
Ash loved the Double Chocolate and Chocolate Chip.
Sy wanted to keep all the Double Chocolate’s for himself. I found him taking all the mini pouches to school one morning.
‘Tyn enjoyed the Chocolate Chips and Oatmeal Raisin as he gobbled them as fast as he could.
Myself I preferred the Oatmeal Raisin followed by the Double Chocolates.
Overall Cooggies has become a family favorite. The kids ask for them all the time, even the husband asked if we had any left for his work lunches. My only real complaint is that they don’t just repopulate in the cabinet every time we finish a box.
